3.5 Ed HOMEBREW CAMPAIGN - SEE DM FOR DETAILS
Dungeon Master: AC
What Happens Here?
Centered in the pseudo kingdom of Sandoval, this campaign takes place in the world of Irophiel, a homebrew setting where politics and intrigue go hand in hand with toe to toe battles and blade work. Alignment is muddied and motives are questionable in this world, and a good rule of thumb to remember is that nobody is a villain in their own eyes- but nobody is really innocent either. Character race affects more than your portrait and your stats, keep in mind that each character comes from their own culture, and in the aftermath of the Fifty Year War, tensions between elves and humans is especially high. Explore, fight, and learn more about this world as you play, and remember- just because one person is being subjectively honest, doesn't mean that what they're saying is the objective truth.
Campaign is still in the prologue stages right now. The campaign will be run on Mondays at 3:15, and will be open ended in duration. Sessions will last as long as they need to, typically four hours, or a little longer with group consensus. Prologue sessions continue January 30 and February 7, with Feb 14 skipped before resuming with the main storyline February 21.
CHAPTER 1: Pursuit
In pursuit of the characters played during the prologue, the party must navigate Sandoval and its duchies and locate a small group of wanted criminals.
Resources needed: The Players Handbook 3.5 is recommended. You are welcome to borrow the DM's copy during game play until you get your own, but DM books go home with the DM at the end of the night.
Allowed resources: Any campaign unspecific, WotC expansion book. This includes but is not limited to: Expanded Psionics Handbook, the Complete series, Tome of Battle Book of Nine Swords, Tome of Magic, Magic of Incarnum, and others. Non WotC book may be permissible with DM review- if you want to check for permission, bring the book for DM review before the game.
Available resources: DM library is fairly extensive. Ask and I'll see about bringing it the next week if I have it. If you want to browse a concept, mention it to the DM and I'll see about bringing something appropriate the following week.
Allowed Characters: Prologue is run with DM generated, premade characters. Main storyline will be a level 3 character of your own creation, DM assistance and advice will be available on Feb 7 for character generation and book resources.
What Do I Need To Play?
Pre-generated characters will be available for play and you have the option to bring your own D&D character (no optional or house rules, level to be determined by Dungeon Master). While not strictly required to participate, players are encouraged to purchase their own copy of the D&D Player's Handbook or D&D Essentials Rules Compendium, a set of polyhedral dice and a miniature to represent their character.
What Is Dungeons & Dragons?
The Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game has defined the genre and has set the standard for fantasy roleplaying for more than 30 years.
D&D is an imaginative, social experience that engages players in a rich fantasy world filled with larger-than-life heroes, deadly monsters, and diverse settings. As a hobby game, D&D is an ongoing activity to which players might devote hours of their time—much like a weekly poker game—getting together with friends on a regular basis for weeks, months, or even years.
Players create heroic fantasy characters -- mighty warriors, stealthy rogues, or powerful wizards -- which they guide through an ongoing series of adventures, working together to defeat monsters and other challenges and growing in power, glory, and achievement. The game offers endless possibilities and a multitude of choices . . . more choices than even the most sophisticated computer game, because you can do whatever you can imagine!
What Is A Role-Playing Game?
The D&D game (as a roleplaying game) is a fantasy game of your imagination. It's part acting, part storytelling, part social interaction, part war game, and part dice rolling. You and your friends create characters that develop and grow with each adventure they complete. One player is the Dungeon Master (DM). The DM controls the monsters and enemies, narrates the action, referees the game, and sets up the adventure. Together, the Dungeon Master and the players make the game come alive. |
